I have a bedroom system with an iFi Zen into a Krell Foundation as DAC/preamp. I use Roon.
After working fine for about a year, the iFi stopped outputting a signal. It still shows up as an Endpoint on my Roon controllers and the correct color lights go on when I stream to it. I tested it against a Digione from another system and it's definitely the Zen.
First, any thoughts on how I might resuscitate the iFi? I checked connections and settings.
Second, any suggestions on which Wiim would be most appropriate as a replacement in this setting? If I only use it as a Roon endpoint with the Foundation (or other outboard DAC), is there any SQ reason to get more than one of their cheap, basic models?
TIA!
