Yes! I also upconvert everything to DSD 256 - because it greatly improves the SQ from my DAC.
My main audio system is foobar-centered, running on a Win 10 PC divorced from the internet (no Win update issues, and no anti-virus sw). It's several years out of date - and runs great, without surprises.
All of my music, mostly classical, is on a 2tb SSD. I don't own a CD player, or stream -- foobar has been my one and only music player for 15 years or more. And everything I rip or convert I do in foobar.
foobar is fed, via USB, to an external DAC (SMSL D6) through an external passive volume control to the power amp (Sansui AU-9900), bypassing it's tone controls.
All tone shaping is done in foobar's DSP chain:
Upconvert to DSD 256.
Convolver (to add room EQ correction)
Mathaudio Headphone equalizer (tone control)
Speakers are DIY's that I built in 1990, and recently upgraded the crossovers. Ported floor standing 10 inch 3-ways, that still sound fantastic.
I listen with foobar almost daily, often for several hours. For me this is my ultimate audio system, I have no need for anything else.
