I was talking about the cost of bandwidth.FLAC is good for lossless, you can convert FLAC to Opus Interactive Audio Codec directly: here's an example command:
opusenc --bitrate 32 --hard-cbr --no-phase-inv --music flac.flac flac.opus
Where flac.flac is your FLAC file and the flac.opus is your desired Opus filename.
If you tell it not to phase invert and force it to go to music mode it sounds great. You can use vbr too.
Converting high resolution FLAC to Opus is the best way to get an idea about how good it sounds for such low storage requirements, especially at 32kbps.
You can listen to the file with Video Lan Client (VLC).
I know Daphile Linux supports it I use that.
See if you can get it on RPi too,
sudo apt-get install opus-tools
the command is:
opusenc
