Love it. I want it all and why not? Choice is a good thing

First of all, Darko seems too hung-up on Apple Music and spends way too much time on it as not everyone cares. I don't. There are ways to get bit-perfect Apple Music from these devices but it doesn't apply to me as I don't subscribe.

Touchscreen displays "satisfy market demand". Darko said so himself. Yes, people want them and why not? Of course it helps sell units. It covers all use cases.... the desktop user, the couch potato sitting 12-feet away, and anyone seeking some eye candy. Why do people buy McIntosh?

Darko didn't present a compelling reason for -NOT- having a touchscreen....

Darko mostly nitpicks on how we interact with them and his portrait vs landscape preference. I prefer landscape. As an aside I think the FiiO vertical form factor is too goofy and would never fit quite right in my AV rack. I vote for landscape. Choice is a good thing.

If you're going to take up front panel real estate with a LCD screen anyway, why not make it a touchscreen? It makes perfect sense for a feature rich product (like the Eversolo) with so many configuration and preference permutations. The Menu layering is intuitive and doesn't even require a user manual. The alternative would be a knob or two and having to toggle, press, pull, turn right, turn left, etc. etc to navigate all the possible configurations. Remember the yank, push, pull, twist and turn BMW iDrive infotainment controller? Even BMW has gone touchscreen in their latest vehicles. When adjusting a multitude of configuration settings and preferences a touchscreen is easier to use vs yanking, twisting, turning, and pulling a knob.

And you're not limited to using the touchscreen with the Eversolo. It can be controlled from a smartphone, tablet, or the dedicated handheld plastic remote* AND can it can also display to your massive flat screen TV directly over HDMI ARC or via Screen Mirroring (if your modern TV supports it). Choice is a good thing.

However, for initial setup and a multitude of preferences it's real easy using the touchscreen vs yanking and twisting buttons and knobs. Which reminds me, I'm going to change my DAC setting to one of the slow rolloff choices and I might even play with PEQ and DSP. Try that with a couple buttons. Oh I did, and it was a royal PITA on the RME ADI-2 DAC FS.

Almost forgot. Need new features or user interface improvements? Just update the software. The touchscreen will accommodate it which may not be the case with buttons and knobs.

No one NEEDS a LCD screen (I have several Raspberry Pi streamers w/o one) but I am enjoying the Eversolo DMP-A8 touchscreen and all. Choice is a good thing.

- Stream Qobuz via Roon over Ethernet to Eversolo streamer OR
- Stream via Mac Mini to Eversolo USB DAC section OR
- Stream via Mac Mini to PS Audio DAC to Eversolo analog preamp section
- Control via Eversolo touchscreen, iPhone, iPad, or plastic remote
- Display on Eversolo screen, iPhone, iPad, and 75" TV

Choice is a good thing.... unless you're easily confused then maybe not.

*Eversolo remote standard on DMP-A8, optional $12 on Amazon for DMP-A6 series.
