I've never tried it as a DAC. I'm sure you can asked the fellows over on headfi. From all the comments I've read, the DAC section isn't all that great. You really can't expect the little guy to be good in all areas for the price. I would suggest mating it with a DAC of your choice, if the DAC isn't already a USB DAC. It is a helluva transport for 100 bucks.
