That is a very intriguing question. If I swap in the CS4398 DAC board into the Oritek Zhaolu, the sound moves closer to the Lynx analogue output, which of course uses Crystal DAC chipset. With AD1852 DAC board, the sound is vastly different from Lynx.Yes, I am using the zhaolu as my reference, but Lynx 2B with mods to get rid of that ridiculous-sounding breakout cable does sound quite good with quite different flavors.
