There are plenty of PC soundcards that have S/PDIF out at upto 24/96, maybe higher now. I just got an old card for $5 out of a junk box and it has digital out S/PDIF at 16/44.1 and by default that digital out has a volume control. I don't know if it can be bypassed. I read it is better without volume in the digital realm. Is there some advantage to using USB over the soundcards output? ? Also you wrote "Then rip some discs in one of the lossless formats and enjoy" By lossless on redbook CD you mean the native 16/44.1 right? Thanks in advance.
