Want to buy an external HD this morning....NAS? Possible with my setup?

My current setup is a Powerbook running iTunes and sending the music wirelessly via an Airport Express.
I'm out of drive space and want to put all my music on an external. I was planning on buying a Firewire/USB 2 drive, but network attached storage could be nice.
My first question:
Would this even be possible in my setup? My router is an older 802.11b standard. Does that have enough bandwidth to send music from the NAS drive/router to my Powerbook and then out to the Airport Express?
