I'm currently working on an ethernet network of PCs (server/backend and client/frontend) that will be running linux with MythTV for a distributed PVR and music server setup. Will also have the option to try squeezbox as slimserver also runs on linux.

I chose AMD with nvidia 6150 onboard video (much better linux support) in a mATX (small) motherboard form factor. I'm looking to use a Silverstone LC04 case (looks more like HT equipment and is small).

This MSI brand motherboard (see link below) has really good reviews on many sites for HD video playback and S/PDIF audio output. I'm also looking to experiment with usb audio output for 44.1kHz PCM audio (with an external DAC) and will let the motherboard's S/PDIF port handle the DD/DTS output to the HT processor.
