Well, the KT-7500 is a really good tuner. I have a modified KT-8300, and it is the best tuner I have tried in my area, with very difficult reception. I have had many of the supertuners, and prefer the KT-8300.
A M-audio into good dac will probably give you acceptable results. Certainly as good or better sound quality than any satellite radio.Or you could stretch a bit and get a Lynx L22, which is a fantastic sound card, and will be better than almost any other soundcard/dac combo. With it, you may find it better playing back lossless rips from CDs than your CD player. But you need to know a fair amount about computers and installing software etc., because the Lynx is not exactly plug and play.
The Lynx will be probably 20% better sounding (to give an arbitrary number) than satelite radio, and can approach the sound of FM with some quality internet radio streams compared to the KT-7300. The best sound cards do a better job on lossy compressed signals than external dacs IMHO.
Also, don't give up on FM. Try a Mangalab ST-2 whip antenna, which is not obtrusive indoors and does quite a good job at pulling in stations. You can get one at many of the online audiophile vendors with a return policy to try it out.
