How to make 1:1 backup copy of CDs?

I have some rare CDs that are now OOP and I want to make 1:1 identical backup copies for personal use. What freeware would you recommend for ripping the original to my PC harddisk and burning to CDR if sound quality is a top priority? Thanks!
