A sound card will give you better sound quality over your onboaard sound. But MP3 doesnt sound so good to begin with , you would want to rip your cds with a lossless compression instead like Apple Lossless. Then get yourself an M-audio audiphile 24/96 for $99 and youll definitly get better sound.
