What differences did you actually hear when you compared the HagUSB to the Lynx card? I'm asking because I've heard so many people here at elsewhere say that USB is better than a PCI sound card for digital output, but in my own direct (A/B blind test) comparisons I could not hear any difference whatsoever between my E-Mu 1212M and an Audiophile USB (which is now sitting in a closet thanks to M-Audio's awful sound drivers).I have always been skeptical of USB sound cards because none of them (that I know of) have been implemented properly (i.e. with asynchronous i/o), which means they almost certainly have jitter problems similar to an S/PDIF connection. Further, when using a DAC which claims immunity from jitter (like the Benchmark DAC1) I'm curious how much of a difference the sound card makes anyway.
Again, please describe what you actually heard when comparing the two. I'm very interested to know what a slight difference in jitter sounds like.
