Well I'd be happy to discuss in more detail any aspect of your journey that might be helpful to you. I could go on about my disappointment in the Bel Canto DAC1 but I should aslo say that my system changed quite a bit before going to the new Lavry Black DA10.

As background, I had more of a midfi system at that time: Rotel 200 watt amp, preamp with B&W 803 Nautilus speakers. Used the Bel Canto DAC1 with both a DVD player and Sony 555ES Cd Changer. Nothing good to say as there was nothing discernible.

I now have an NHT Xd system that is evolutionary in its delivery and perhaps the technology allows for a greater improvement from the Lavry DA10. I can't really quantify that.

The glass tosslink is available I've heard on Ebay but I like the performance and what Sonicwave has done with theirs. So I'm sticking with them.

Let us know how you make out in your comparison. I wouldn't be surprised if your Tjoeb comes out ahead. But again, it's just a guess.
