Thanks for all the valuable information. I have spent a long time assembling an expensive state of the art system, but now I find myself looking to downsize and the Bobcat and other computer driven playback systems have emerged on my horizon. I have a CD player that I do like (Reimyo CDP777), but the cost is ridiculous. I tried vinyl, but found myself tinkering more than listening. The sound was sometimes better than digital but not always, and God forbid there be a scratch on an album. It sounds like we are from the same generation. At least our music tastes sound simular, and I have been avoiding the early era CDs because the sound was not always to my liking.
One last question and please my pardon my computer ignorance. Are you using the Bobcat to playback CDs or are you burning the CDs on to the harddrive and playing back from there? Thanks for your time regarding this. I think I am ready to take the plunge.
