waiting on your impressions!They are certainly right about the fan. My bet is that they did their market research and are making "quiet" their differentiator.
While no doubt much more convenient, in a hard drive the wallwart/built in is a bit less important - what matters is that it is a robust power supply - 80w+ instead of the 30w units that come on the cheapie enclosures
it is virtually certain that the drive itself was made by one of the majors (Western, Samsung, Seagate, Hitachi, Maxtor)
Glyph designs the cases, manufactures, assembles and markets.
