Whew!!!I put more than 750 hours on mine per year, and I have been listening for over four years now. That estimate is WAAAAAAAAAAAYYY conservative.
Have only ever had one tube go bad, with absolutely no damage to the amp or my speaker. Not the fault of the amplifiers, of course. I threw another Sovetek in there, checked the bias, and was pleasantly surprised that it was still spot on. Actually, I could see the tube was bad since the day I got it (blue "lightning" out to the glass), and let it ride for two years until I HAD to get it out of there (would build up pressure over the course of several minutes, loudly "POP!!!", then begin it all over again).
