jb,It's an interesting question. The 6SN7s in the MP-3 are doing very different service than those in the V1 & V2 positions of the M-60.
In the MP-3, the dual sections of a single 6SN7 serve as the active components in the circlotron output section for one channel, with the two cathodes of the tube producing respective inverted and noninverted outputs.
In the M-60, the V1 6SN7 serves as the bottom section of a differential cascode circuit. With the V2 jumper plug in place, the V1 tube acts as a simple differential voltage amplifier.
