From the photos it would appear that the Callisto is certainly chock full of parts enough to
construct a truly balanced circuit; glad to know that it is. In that case, the major significant
difference between MP1 and Calisto would be the fact that the former unit uses a circlotron
output circuit, which avoids the need for a large output coupling cap (although the circlotron is
inserted in its stead), plus the MP1 gives you a darn good phono stage built-in. I am sure the
Callisto is a great unit, too, but I would not be tempted to give up my MP1. Love to audition a
Callisto just out of curiosity. It's one of about 3 other preamps that interest me from a technical
standpoint, to also include the Emotive Audio Sirah, the Allen Wright RTP, and the custom built
ones from Australia
