Please. I'm doing all I can to forget Spiro...
Truth be told, I went to Kevin's place and matched my own tubes. I'm honored to call Kevin a good friend. We've been going to ham radio swapmeets for years. These 'meets are highly recommended, but that's another thread. Kevin has tube testing equipment to die for. He has the Spectral Dynamics FFT Analyzer, the TEK curve tracer, a TM-100 lab standard matcher and other custom built testers and burn in rigs. I've been known to maintain some of his equipment on occasion. The matching definition is what I've defined. The intersection Gm is 1% or better. This means that only a few percent of a given CV4024 tube lot are what I was looking for. I know. It's a bit extreme. Of those few percent, the reject rate was hight due to excessive microphony and noise. Lew, you've know me for some time now. When have you ever know me not to take things to the extreme, much like yourself?
