Does it work? Probably not without changing some resistors, at least. Also, it may have a different pin-out, so be cautious about just plugging one into the 12AU7 socket. Advice: don't do it. Your pre-amp may have more gain with the E80CC and therefore fool you into thinking there is an improvement. Try the 7316 instead. That's the best direct swap for a 12AU7. Amperex PQ type recommended.
