The Quad 57s are a lot more fragile than later generation Quad spkrs, and it is possible that BOTH the MA1 and the Transcendant amp could damage them, if overdriven, but this guy's bald statement that the MA1s will make the Quad 57s arc-over per se is incorrect. (I am looking for the most polite word available. Stronger words would not be out of line.) The writer says he measured the interaction between the amps and the Quads with a scope and a Fluke meter. I am very impressed, but WHAT did he measure and how did he measure it and what was the result? I think the MA1s would make a great match with the Quad 57s.
