My results for my MA-1s modified with another Zener in the current source reference and independent filament supply transformers for these tubes (V3) are best with:V1 and V2, chrome-dome Sylvania 6SN7GTA;
V3, RCA or Motorola-branded 6SL7GT (the older ones with graphite coating); and
V4, Tung-Sol 6SN7GTB.
Sources are swap meets and Radio Electric Supply (see ASOG links page). 6SN7s are hard to find and tend to be expensive. You have to be thorough about checking with suppliers. For example, do not believe the web page for Radio Electric: you have to call them and they have to look through their stock to see what they have.
