Roy,Actually adding a couple of small filament transformers is the best way to go. There are a couple of issues here. I don't know if the stock MA-1 supply can take on the extra current, and the max heater to cathode rating for a 6SN7 is 100V. One small filament transformer for the top (CVS) tube, and a second small filament transformer for the bottom (CCS) tube would ensure the safest operation.
I recommend that you keep the entire SLCF circuit "inside" the existing V4 pi-Filter.
