For several years I have used the CinePro PowerPro 20 which is an AC line balancer. It's my impression that the CD-like hard edge is softened a bit without losing vivid highs. There seems to be slightly less mechanical hum from the amps. I don't notice a difference in bass. Using it with a dedicated 20 amp AC circuit has given the best result in terms of lowering the noise floor.
