I encourage all ZERO users to try the alternative 2X configuration. Click the link below for details. I have been using the ZEROs for about 9 months in the standard 2X configuration with really exceptional results except for an occasional edginess in the high frequencies. The alternative 2X configuration eliminated this and provided more detail in the process. Bass output was slightly reduced doing this but well worth the compromise. Luis' comments (see link below) on the alternative 2X match my observations exactly. It gets better. Last Monday night I installed a second pair of ZEROs in a bi-ZERO configuration on my N.E.A.R. 50Me II speakers. I used the standard 2X setup on the low frequencies and the alternative 2X setup on the high frequencies. The results were OUT OF THIS WORLD. I will try to post some specifics in the next few days. I would recommend anyone contemplating a speaker change explore the bi-ZERO configurations before doing so. You probably already have a better speaker in your possession than you know, especially if your speakers are bi-wire capable.
God bless.
