Hello Dan,----This was from a thread that got cut off and archived----
Hope all is well in Santa Rosa. Judy and I are coming to California again, but this time we will be in LA, so I will be visiting Mark Gilmore on this trip.
I hear you about the heat issue with OTLs, it bums me out in the summer time also. Last summer I ran only a pair of 6336 per chassis and put up with loose bass and low power for 3 months.
But there is a way to "get your cake and eat it too". I now have a pair of Atma-Sphere Z-music autoformers. I know that the last thing a OTL fan wants to hear is the suggestion of adding iron. But these autoformers are so transparent that I am still using them and running just two 6336s per chassis and it is below zero outside. I get all the power I need and the autoformer makes my 5 ohm speakers feel like 20 ohms to the OTL amp.
I sure wish that you still had your M-60 so you could try the Z-Music Autoformers. I do remember you liking the sound of your M-60s a lot better than Kurt's SE amps a year ago.
