What's a "non electrolytic choke"? A choke, as used on our power supplies, is a bunch of iron with a coil of wire around it. Electrolytic capacitors do exist. Their dielectric is an electrolyte.Ripple is directly proportional to load current. The larger the load, the more the ripple.
