Mark,I have contacted the nearest dealer again (some 250 miles away) because I am very willing to travel to hear MA-1's. JENA Labs can't keep them long enough to audition them out much. Jenifer Crock (JENA Labs is worried about not getting her own pair (on order) soon enough to tweak, break in, and prep for CES 2001!
Since the factory seems to be back-ordered for several months on MA-1's, and will (no doubt) become further back-ordered when the TAS review comes out, I have all but lost hope of ever hearing a current pair.
Did you visit the mbl room at CES2000? It was the only memorable sound I heard there. Other than mbl, CES2000 did a lot to demystify the 'Hi End' for me. My own humble system can play music much better than almost every system I heard there. Of course, I get months of careful tuning to get it that way; CES exhibitors get a day or two.
