Tried swapping some 6SN7s and things seem quite a bit better now, or at least I think they do. Its funny how you're mind plays games on you. And its interesting with the 4 6SN7s per M60 there are many different combinations that can come in to play. The complexity involved and effort to resolve this type of problem is compounded when one doesn't have a tube tester and has to result to using the ears to troubleshoot. Add to this the lenghty warmup time between tube swaps, and this comes a lifelong commitment ;0( Kind of reminds me of my marriage which approaching the big 20 year marker. Hey, isn't that what these amps are designed to last until at a minimum? MMMMmmmm. I hope the rest of my system is up to the task.
