One the MA-1 Silver Edition and MkII.3 amps:
The tube facing the power tubes on the edge of the chassis is the driver tube and should be a 6SN7GTA or 6SN7GTB. All the other tubes are in the voltage amplifier gain stage and the type of tube is not critical. The three middle positions are most critical for best sound.
The one facing the power supply cover on the edge of the chassis is the constant current source and is perhaps the least critical in the unit.
The next two from there are in parallel and should be identical types.
Have fun but don't go overboard. Some of the more exotic tubes are pricy and it might be questionable whether or not they are worth the cash.
