If the Brentworth speakers you plan to audition are the same as the ones I've heard (two smallish cone drivers in a vertical arrangement contained in a nicely finished floor-standing cabinet and driven via an equalizing network of some kind), the question is moot. They don't begin to compete with your Quads. Anyway, I would sugget trying the amps straight thru to the spkrs first of all. The fewer transformers, the better.
