Gather up as many CDs as you can fit into the freezer and keep them there for 48;hours. Then remove them from freezer and put them into main fridge to thaw slowly for 6 hours. Take the CDs back to their original location and play a CD that was NOT one from the freezer. See if that doesn't sound better than before. Does that surprise you? You can do this in stages, say 50 CDs at a time, the more CDs that get frozen the better the sound will be for CDs that weren't frozen.
