Words "speaker" and "Stromberg-Carlson" usually refer to an enclosure that has an acoustic non terminated labyrinth to attenuate the back wave midrange and if of a length that can increase bass output. Been awhile since any investigation or understanding of mechanisms for meso could be some rusty info there.
Read some of the back in day adverts, appears the "Four Hundred" name was applied to a total system
Four Hundred Control Console, amp, preamp, record player and speakers were in both completed and home build. You could just get individual units but wouldn't your life be more fulfilling if all your units matched advertising push.
Was unable to find "plans" for the enclosure but appears the back line too short and no batting on walls for meaningful labyrinth, but with the flare shown in photos, more in common with a BLH.
