What if you use a subwoofer?

I have often read that rear loaded horn speakers with a small driver, like the Cain & Cain BEN and the RETHM Two, by themselves, are not optimal for large scale orchestra. Would you say that still holds true if you supplement them with a suitable subwoofer (the TBI Magellian comes to mind)?
