I've owned both. IMO the Cornwall is a pretty good speaker and the LaScala a very flawed one. The LS's lack of bass extension makes it's flamethrower upper midrange stand out all the worse. I always fall back on industrial tools like Sawzalls and Skilsaws to describe the sound of the LaScala (and Heresey). The Cornwall however goes considerably deeper in the bass and that gives it a much more robust and natural tonality that makes a big difference in how it sounds compared to the LS.
Both speakers have excellent clarity and dynamics, the LS is probably a little better at dynamics but the CW is still a dynamics champ.
My opinion ya understand but an opinion based on considerable experience with both.
