Bob Stephens died of bone cancer in 1957. Bert Berlant of tape recorder fame ran Stephens Tru-sonic for a while, and at some point the company moved from Culver City to Temple City, CA. There was evidently some relationship with the people making the Standel guitar amplifiers.
After this the remains of the company were apparently acquired by Utah. I have seen several, mostly strange looking speakers on ebay labeled "Trusonic by Utah." These had cast frames that resembled the older Stephens frames. I haven't seen any with stamped frames.
