Yeah, No DEEP Bass

I have a pair of dedicated corner mounted 9.5 cu ft subs.
They use car stereo 15" drivers with long X Max in a sealed box.
The driver I am using is a Cadence Wild Best, a Kevlar 15" driver.
I designed em to go flat only down to 35 HZ with a q of .6

Room and corner gain takes over from there, and they are fast, powerful, and fairly efficient.
I have 1500 watts on each one.

So the punchy mid bass of the Sansui serves me well.

The Sansui's can often make me say "Wow", and shake my head in disbelief.
They image all over the place, even w/o any tubes in the system.

I NEED tubes, BUT, my solid state preamp has remotely controlled sub level, and I am using it's crossover for the subs.

i HAVE a tube pre amp, but after using a pre amp with remotely controlled sub level, there is no going back for me.

I had NO earthly idea just how important proper bass level really is.

And w/o remote control, you must get up and set it for every recording.

Unless you are willing to compromise bass level.
I am not.

Powerful subs like mine need to be set exactly, orthey sound like crap.

The "purist" in me will not allow using a tube amp with a solid state pre amp, lol

Maybe i will haul the Tube Dac out, but I swear it sounds so good now i am just enjoying it.

Not since my BELOVED old EV Interface D's have I had a speaker that can Rock like these can w/o fatigue.

And sound pretty good, and even spectacular at times doing it.

Colored they are, but pretty smooth, with moments of magick.
I wanna damp the horn with caulk, and that dam crossover is a bitch to get to.

These have gotta need caps ?
They were made in 1976 !
