I have a lovely battery powered 10W digital amp that I really like (smashed some serious valve gear both on tone and drive).
My room is 20m2, pretty square one.
For quite some time I was dreaming about horns, but I kinda gave up on the due to space issues. Not sure that any serious model plays really well in such a small space.
I'm also not a fan of Lowthers more or less for known reasons, too many compromises for someone raised on traditional dynamic speakers like me, although I fully agree that what they do well, they do the best. Maybe one day I'll built a second system for my cottage house with it.
So: I am looking for tips and recommendations for a really good, great speaker that really shines in 20m2. I would personally prefer to have it closer to the back wall, but it can go up to 3ft into to room if must.
I am looking for an absolutely natural and organic tone. I also like a big, massive sound, but clean and open at the same time. The speakers should have a flat response, and I prefer the speakers that don't reproduce what they can't do properly, than trying to play things they can't.
Most of the music I listen is 70s rock, folk-rock, country rock (Byrds, Dylan, Eagles), than some similar contemporary stuff (from Black Keys to Lambchop, Sufjan Stevens etc), than lots of 20 century classical music and lots of 60s jazz (Mingus, Davies, Coltrane).
There are many options I am currently thinking about... pls help me focusing on the right thing for starters, or let me know what is your idea what to check out.
