Need speakers that can rock with just one watt? You found da place.

Hearing a Lowther DX3, in the standard/recommended monkey coffin ...

Was a landmark day in my audiophile career. Fronted by a dumpster diver one watt/spud/SET. Yes, the size of the image was incredibly large (but I'm sure I could get used to it). The music though had a quality to it, that begged attention. The laughihng ease of engagement, the solidity of the image. Was a short audition, but one which propelled me on my own one way/full range journey.

I never could get to the point of building a BLH, or throwing down a grand for the cabinetmaker. But I did eventually find my own musical peace, through the time, effort, and learning expenditure on my numerous Fostex, and Isophon DIY speakers (box, open baffle).

I was being commanded by that flea amp and BLH. I'm just not a ready fan of flying sawdust and cannister bugmasks (though I did put wood to spinning blade numerous times). For me, a larger warmer/woolier driver on open baffle, with some help on the highs. Gets me there. But at a lower cost to my psyche, and with still quite reasonable real estate take up.

The path of least resistance did eventually (and luckily) reward me. But any opportunity to hear a well sorted BLH/SET system should not be dismissed. At all. Go where your heart leads. Grab hold the music. Let each day bathe you in the magic. However the spell be cast?
