Hey John. Yes, I'm happy and I did add some wool back to the compression chamber as you suggested. I pulled it thoroughly to get it nice and loose. Like you said, the sand bags improved on the bass a bit but I lost some way down low as well. Not sure whether to leave 'em in or out at this point but I think I'll just listen for a while. Added two sand bags per chamber at around 57 cubic inches total per chamber.
I was out and about this afternoon with some free time just goofing off looking at subs. Didn't expect to find much but did stumble upon a Martin Logan Depth i Subwoofer. The best I heard that the commercial big-box stores had to offer. Uses three, front-firing (3-directions) 8" drivers. I measured it by itself easily all the way down to 20Hz in a very large room. It was clean and tight most of the way down as well. But expensive at almost $2K.
Fun but not for me. Got any multi-driver subwoofer ideas?
