When he asked $1K for them, it means he paid $200-$400 for them and he's willing to come down to $800 on them. Klipsch never used the greatest drivers, mainly Eminence or similar OEM's that were cheaper than the regular stock. He's not going to look for any $5K. If he's in the business he knows the market better than a hobbyist. He just wants someone that'll part w/ the cash at the price he wants- that's the only 'favor' he needs!
