I removed mine very early on and recall a clearer less confused sound so they stayed off. Remember that these units are designed to be used at outdoor sound reinforcement gigs, so bugs might be an issue there but not in a home and dust is a non issue anyway. If you live an the Everglades that might be different since I think there is more mosquitoes than air molecules:)
If you get the time I recommend it.
