That being said, I very much like 8" FR's (a good compromise size, I think, for frequency response/dispersion). I don't have any particular receipes, but the venerable Radio Shack 40-1286 FR (or the very similar Pioneer B20FU20-51FW 8" FR) might be coerced to perform well in such a box.
For the record, I am awfully fond of the EV Wolverine LS-8 FR.
