I heard the Omegas at the show and I thought they were a bit thin. I've only recently gotten into full range speakers, and the ones I've built have no right to be any good. But when I heard the Omegas I thought I'd like them more but found them to have a signature similar to mine, and mine are built with Radio Shack 40-1041 5" drivers in a cardboard Metronome box. They were better than mine, but some of the deficiencies that I hear were in the omegas as well, weak bass and a generally thin sound. Surprisingly so considering their 8" driver. I was hoping a properly built speaker would have a bigger sound.I was listening to my Metronomes tonight for a while and kind of liking them but then switched back to my Proac clones and the clones just blow them away. I'll have to build a real cabinet for the Metronomes, and then maybe get some Fostex 108 sigmas for it. Whether or not they're any good they'll go to my kids anyway.
