Re: Notch Filter

As I recall the FE103 in a sealed cab with the filter was big in the late '60s, early '70s, just before T/S hit these shores and ported reflex took over the market. They sounded pretty good for what they were. It wasn't a true notch filter. They ran the resistor, cap and coil in parallel, with that conglomeration in series with the driver. The mids went through the resistor, while the highs and lows above and below the corner frequencies of the cap and coil went through those, resulting in a 'smiley face' passive EQ. Simple, effective, but with only about 80dB sensitivity.
