If they do produce ozone, it will be very welcome indeed, replenishing the ozone layer which we are told is being destroyed by the heavier-than-air CFCs that Dupont was glad to have outlawed just as the original patent was about to expire.What a great way to destroy the competition . . . have it declared illegal to produce just as the market is about to open up.
Seriously, I know of some air purification systems that deliberately produce ozone for its antimicrobial effects (or maybe their marketing departments decided to make it a "feature" once it was pointed out, "Hey, this product is producing ozone!") so probably you don't need to worry about ozone from your tweeters.
Indeed, it just might be the only safe way to play the music of Frank Zappa . . .
