Hi DukeThats good news!
I had another look at the AES in library. Found an article in JAES 1979 ,May,by David Queen.
Not sure if this is the same article I mentioned to you 6months or so ago, because I thought the article talked of ~90° horizontal radiation angle in room beind ideal.(my imagination drawn from my own conclusions?)
This article talks about stereophonic reproduction in room, and the desire for minimised ceiling and floor reflections, and a smooth directivity, through theory and listening tests.Ofcourse toole refers to this recently - but cant see any obvious horn speakers in his tests.
He stops short of refering to horns/waveguides as being an answer, instead talking about omnidirectional speakers.
90° x 40 ° HF horn dispersion or similar seems useful, and correllates well with report on here. Note that THX requirements ask for reduced vertical reflections also.
2226 + H290 or similar cant be too bad,when one is used to 4" + 1" direct radiators :-)
