Some my have seen my post in the SET forum looking for 45 SET-friendly speakers.I've been using Druids in my 2nd system for about a year and have alternatively liked and disliked them. After a lot of treatments and positionings, I still find them "bright" or hard on certain music and find the treble generally disconnected from the music (is this the super tweeter's effect??). Although I have improved this.
I am considering buying a pair of lowther or (probably) A-N minimonitors and was wondering if people that are familiar with both (these and the Druids) could comment. What am I likely to find? I also have to say that why the Druids mids are good, they are not world-class smooth and natural. On vocals. At least to me.
As for bass, the Druids themselves are lacking in low bass but I tolerate that. If the 8" A-N driver is as good, that's fine with me. Since this is a 2nd system, in my workshop, I don't bother with a sub.
Since I'd be buying the Audio Nirvana speakers brand new, without audition (no chance to), I'm just trying to gather all information possible before taking that plunge. Thanks.
