First off, let me say that I am a Karlson zealot, hence the username.I have found that, especially for dorms and frat/sorority houses, Karlsons destroy everyone else's stereo options. Granted with todays technology and advancements some of the sets out there really hit hard. But if you have a good reciever, and a good set of Karlsons, kiss the little guys goodbye.
I'm currently running a Sony STR-DG500 (Link)
with two Karlson K12 enclosures running JL Audio 12W1v2-4 drivers (Link)
and they are phoenominal!
With the STR-DG500 you can actually hook up to your DVD player, and your TV out and get rediculous sound out of them, granted not surround, but with Karlson's pumping out Twister, your still going to feel that tornado whipping by. I have 2 setups a 7.1 surround with all Karlsons, that's my theater, and my ST-DG500 for my stereo applications.
Trust me, you HAVE to balance these Karlsons carefully, if you don't they'll phase each other out, or do some wierd distortion across the band, be careful, and don't overpower them.
